Why Canada would still be the best country for Indian students in 2024?

The political turmoil between India and Canada is on the verge, both countries are willing to gain popularity on the global platform and want to prove their government robustness in front of the local community since the election is approaching in both countries in 2024. just a quick recap, the whole heat-up was generated when Ottawa reached out to the local parliament and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an illogical statement making some allegations to the Indian government over the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar case, Delhi also responded concretely and expelled the Canadian diplomat without wasting any time. The sign is clear that India has changed and the Modi government is not willing to tolerate any allegation without providing any proper justification and reasoning over the Nijjar case. Not only this both countries issued advisories to their local community to take extra precautions but also asked to avoid travel until the situation gets normal. I believe the battle has been won by India, as in a tit-for-tat situation it asked Canada to remove its 41 diplomats from its embassy in the capital, New Delhi. Whether Ottawa would provide enough justification for Nijjar case or not, the Canadian institutions and Indian students are becoming the scapegoats of this clamor even the international student recruitment industry is quite perplexed by the move. Institutions are already giving assurance to the existing students as well as concerned for upcoming students. As per the University of Toronto, it released a press note to ensure proper immigration, visa services, and a mental health portal.

Study-Canada-Indian-Students

Just a Hiccup, momentum would be there for sure

We all know how Indian students are topping the tally when it comes to choosing Canada for their further education, as per the report revealed by IRCC, in the year 2022 more than 2,26,000 Indian students received study permits out of 5,50,000 international students which consist of 40% of the total numbers not even this but Indian students are also taking an edge with 3,19,000 when it comes to international students already living and studying in Canada by 31st 2022.

This is for sure that the current turmoil between India and Canada will affect the students fluctuation for a while but not for a long run as other study destinations such as the USA, UK, Germany, and Australia do not offer cost-effective curriculum and easy immigration policies. UK has recently stopped dependent visa, Australia raises the bar for admissions, Germany has language barrier and USA is still a dream for middle class.

Why Canada is best at any cost for Indian students?

There are ample reasons that still Indian students would prefer to choose Canada over other hot study destinations such as

Some of the Canadian Universities come among the top 100 universities of the world such as University of British Columbia, University of Toronto, McGill University, etc. The education system of Canada is also unique, Colleges do offer diplomas, advanced diplomas, post-graduate certificates,s and diplomas in different streams and focus more on practical learning in a cost-effective manner whereas Canadian universities do offer bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and Ph.D. programs and provide scholarship also.

Immigration Policy - If you are considering Canada as a study destination you should be aware that it provides a very lucrative immigration policy which is a point-based system and Canadian education does provide enough points to attain permanent residency easily. This is the reason more and more immigrants are considering Canada as their preferred destination even as per the immigration policy 2023-2025, the Canadian government will need 5,00,000 Immigrants by 2025.

Best Return on Investment - Canadian Institutions do offer cost-effective tuition fees plus various scholarships and bursaries not only based on academic performance but also based on English proficiency basis, entrance examinations such as GRE and GMAT.

Royal Bank of Canada, Thomson Reuters Corporation, etc. Canadian degrees are widely recognized across the globe, Employers also give enough preference to the students who complete their education at such institutions.

Part-time opportunities and post-study work permit - As per the Canadian government student is eligible to avail post-study work permit if the duration of the program is more than eight months If the study duration is more than eight months to less than two years, international students are eligible to get a same duration of work permit, for 12 months, it would be 12 months if the study duration is more than 2 years then the student can work up to three years so the total duration would be for five years.
