In recent days many things have changed rapidly in the overseas education sector, and rules are getting a bit stringent for Indian students. Indian students' diaspora contribute a huge chunk in the international community not only in south Asia but also around the globe But things are getting chaotic for them as many countries are indirectly reluctant to accept them, especially their favorite study destinations such as Canada and the UK. Both countries are the hot destinations among them, as they provide amazing academic, reputations of institutions, lucrative post-study work permits, and a high standard of living. As per the data released by the Canadian authorities, the total number of visas approved in 2022 was more than 5,50,000 whereas Indian students account for more than 40% with 2,26,000. As far as the UK number is concerned according to the report published by UK officials, There were around 4,80,000 study visas approved by the UK government ending March 2023 year, which is a 22% rise in the previous year and Indian students account for around 30%of all the study visa approved for UK which is the highest of all the nations.

Whether we talk about the recent turmoil between India and Canada relations in the global platform over Nijjar case or mulling over putting the cap on the international student visa acceptance ratio due to job and housing crisis, things are deteriorating for Indian students, Canada has recently made some serious decisions such as doubling the GIC amount for international students to survive in Canada. Definitely It will impact the community of Indian students, especially regio in Punjab and Haryana as they will have to shell out more than double the amount for the same program. Matter of fact immigration in the UK is an all-time high and even the government is committed to hitting the target of hosting 6,00,000 international students studying in the UK per year by 2030. Many international students are also publicly criticizing the unstable economy and recession condition so it is again more frustrating and shocking.
